unit carcasses characteristics Unit carcasses are made of high-density (700kg/m3), 18mm-thick Chipboard with Melamine Surface (CMS). Most of our units are assembled according to a patented procedure: injection of polyamide at 300°, which impregnates the layers of chipboard completely, then hardens. As it retracts, it literally welds the layers together. According to the French Centre Technique du Bois, “the main advantages of this method of assembly are the precision in dimensions (tolerance +0 /– 0.5mm) and in the fact that this method doubles the material’s resilience compared to standard assembly methods”. Other units such as corner wall units, 68cm deep base unit carcasses, corner angled base unit carcasses and 20cm deep unit carcasses are assembled in a traditional way with dowel pins and adhesive. 56cm deep base units include 6.6cm of pipe space, to allow for pipes and for good air circulation. Wall units include a 2cm space for electric cables. 32cm and 68cm deep base units include a 2cm space. Unit backs are made of 3mm High Density Fibre (HDF) lacquered on the inside. Open shelf units are assembled with dowels with back panels in 8mm CMS. Their colour is the same inside and outside. All edges (front, top and bottom) are melamine. Rear edges are covered in Kraft paper for better humidity protection. A metal band (option BZ) can be added as an option to certain units in length 60, 80, 90 and 100cm in order to facilitate the installation of hobs. This band, ref: BDMET, can also be ordered as an accessory. An aluminium protection is fitted as standard in sink base units, and integration units. Storage units are available in 2 depths: 32 and 56cm, which facilitate the integration of appliances. Three different heights are available: 138, 193.2 and 220.8cm. A specially designed 13.8cm elevator unit is available for raising storage units in order to suit all possible layouts. Base units exist in 3 depths: 32, 56 and certain units in 68cm. Most base and storage units exist in 61cm depth. This depth is compatible with 65cm depth worktops. The pipe space is 11.6cm, which is essential owing to technical constraints. Two depths of wall units: 20 and 32cm, provide solutions for all your storage and decoration requirements. For details concerning the available heights and widths of wall and base units, please refer to the measurements page at the beginning of each chapter. Some units are made to measure. They provide plenty of scope to personalise your design.

shelves
For a neat finish, all four edges are veneered in the same colour, making cleaning easier. In most units, the shelves are adjustable in height by means of holes drilled at 64mm intervals, thereby optimising storage space. Shelf supports are made of nickel-plated metal, making them very robust, attractive and discreet. They match the hinges, assembly screws and brackets, unifying the overall look of the unit interiors. Shelves inside glass units and open shelf units are made of 6mm-thick tempered glass and are held in place with special translucent non-slip shelf supports.
feet Each base unit and storage unit is fitted with 4 feet. For units 80cm wide or more, a fifth foot is added to support the unit further. 90 x 90 corner units are supplied with 8 feet. Feet are made of ABS (anti-corrosion). They are extremely sturdy and can bear loads of up to 70kg per foot, i.e. 280kg per unit. Feet are available in 4 different heights: 7.5cm, 10cm, 14cm and 17cm which, combined with the 3 different heights of base units, allow the height of the worktop to be adapted to suit the customer. To compensate for an uneven floor and to align the units perfectly, the feet can be adjusted (-5mm, +15mm) with leveling screws. This adjustment is simple to do by screwing or unscrewing a large rounded plate. This plate can also reduce the pressure on the floor and facilitate the sliding of the unit into place during installation. A second plate flush-fitted into the unit with an expansion system holds the foot firmly in place and prevents it from being pulled out.
plinths
The bottom edge is veneered with a special protective profile, which prevents water infiltration and can mould to uneven areas in the floor. Solid aluminium plinths are also available for MOBALPA 100% Design in particular. Metal fixing clips hold the plinth firmly against the floor and simplify the assembly and dismantling of the unit. Solid aluminium plinths are supplied with special clips which fix to the feet of the unit. Matching assembly profiles, available in various angles, exist to fit any kitchen configuration and simplify assembly and dismantling.

Our 18mm-thick shelves are made of melamine chipboard. They can bear a
weight of 2kg per square decimetre. They are available in both carcass interior
colours: white or nature oak.
Plinths are 13mm thick and made of chipboard. They are available in 3
finishes to coordinate with the unit fronts: melamine, laminate and wood veneer.
